Nogabe Randriaharimala 27th Feb 2010
On Saturday February 27th, UTEA was very excited to play host to Malagasy guitarist Nogabe performing with his band. A veteran world music artist Nogabe has toured the world and appeared at WOMAD festival last summer. His lyrical fuid guitar voice is elevated by songs loaded with positivity, a truly magical artist. This event was reviewed by students from KLB School
The evening was put into action with local, gifted artist Jake McAllister with a collection of innovative upbeat folk-punk songs from his new album ‘The dawn of dead dinosaurs'. Jake’s songs are creatively written and capture the audience with insights into his life. He is an enjoyable act to watch and shows masses of potential for great things in the near future.
Nogabe Randriaharimala and his band created extortionate world music with the use of traditional instruments from all over the globe. The uplifting atmosphere enveloped all as they transported us to the exotic island of Madagascar. His songs clasped all’s imagination with his immense passion for his spiritual roots and his voice elevated great emotion impassioned with the lyrics. All musicians showed a great enthusiasm for their music and created an exultant audience.
Overall a captivating experience for people of all ages and an enjoyable, light hearted evening for all.
