Saturday 6th October 2012Steve Ashley : 8pmSteve Ashley is one of British Folk’s finest singer-songwriters. His compassionate and challenging English songs have been covered by an ever- growing list of artists, including: Fairport Convention, Anne Briggs, Martin Simpson, Wizz Jones, Phil Beer, The Bushwackers, Grace Notes and St Agnes Fountain. His career began in 1974 with his award-winning album, ‘Stroll On’ - now widely acknowledged as a folk-rock classic - and his latest for Topic Records, Time and Tide was summed up in fROOTS as ‘a modern day masterpiece’. Steve also has what New York’s Variety called ‘one of the funniest dry stage raps’.
