Shakespeare at Swinhay - Twelfth Night : 7.30pm

Rain or Shine are delighted to be visiting this summer the stunning setting of Swinhay House to bring you Shakespeare’s cross-gartered and hilarious cross-dressing comedy Twelfth Night.

Storms & shipwrecks, disguises, duels and broken hearts are a sure recipe for laughter in this, the Bard’s most beautiful and haunting of comedies.

Professional Rain or Shine Theatre Company, widely acclaimed for their magical open air productions, transport you to a land where nothing is quite what it seems.

In the fantastical Kingdom of Illyria, the peace of a grieving Countess and a heartsick Duke is disturbed by a pair of shipwrecked twins, a lazy drunk, a vain pedant, a cowardly fool and a cunning maid.
Viola loves Orsino, who thinks he loves Olivia. Olivia thinks she loves Cesario who is really Viola, dressed as a man. Malvolio presumes himself a gentleman and the foolish Sir Andrew believes himself to be a match for the Lady Olivia.

Tricks and subterfuge lead to unforeseen consequences; but then 'the course of true love never did run smooth'.

Sure to delight family audiences from 6 to 96, this is an ideal choice for an outdoor theatrical event.

Grounds open 6pm, play starts at 7.30pm.
