Wotton Open Gardens 2017 - Spring Gardens, Sculpture, Arts and Crafts :
On April 30th and May 1st Under the Edge Arts is holding a two-day fund-raising event over the Early May Bank Holiday period in 2017 as part of Wotton Arts Festival.
Under the Edge Arts is organising a 2 day garden trail around Wotton on April 30, May 1st to celebrate Spring Gardens, Sculpture, Arts and Crafts.
It is planned to open 16 venues, mainly never or very rarely open to the public. Houses that have a historic importance such as Ellerncroft, Bradley Court, Coombe Lodge and the Old Grist will have their gardens and a variety of art and craft featured. There will be refreshments, plant sales at a variety of locations. Confirmed locations are:
2A MARKET STREET SHOP
SEB BRAUN POP-UP
WINDRUSH, BRADLEY GREEN
COOMBE HILL HOUSE
THE OLD GRIST
FIFI'S FANCY FURNITURE
Importantly all locations except The Old Grist are unique to UTEA. The Old Grist also features in the fabulous Wotton Secret Gardens trail on 28 May.
Nearer the time the Wotton Art Gardens logo will feature on roadside signs pointing the way to visitors.
It is the first time that UTEA has stepped into the world of garden design and art. Martin Clarke Co-Chair of UTEA commented "it's about time we got involved in areas like garden design and sculpture. We are really grateful to the garden owners and artists that are getting involved. This is also a major fundraiser for us so we hope to attract many visitors from outside the area. Anyone wishing to help organise and run the event or exhibit sculpture, art or crafts should contact us now. Further details of what each location has to offer will be published towards the end of March when two-day tickets will be on sale for £6.
This event complements the Wotton Secret Garden trail on 28th May and forms part of Wotton Arts Festival 2017: www.wottonartsfestival.org.uk
