CHARLES CAUSLEY FILM EVENING with live music set from JIM CAUSLEY : 7.30pm - 11.30pm

2017 was the centenary of the birth of the poet Charles Causley. The artist and film maker, Jane Darke, has made a superb film about his life shown on BBC4 last year. Jane will introduce the film and take part in a q & a session.
Jim Causley, a distant relation, will sing some of his settings of Charles’ poems. Rosie Bailey will read some Causley poems.
There is archive footage of Causley and interviews with poets who respect his work such as Simon Armitage, Roger McGough and Andrew Motion. There are also memories from people who knew him well, Mike Shepherd of Kneehigh, co-workers and friends in his home town and stories of his experiences during World War II while in the Navy.

The event forms part of the 2018 Wotton Arts Festival
