FLUTE MUSIC FOR A NEW WORLD : 7:45 - 8:45

A fascinating, informative and sometimes humorous journey of flute repertoire I have learned over the last months. This informal 'recital' includes classics, an improvisation, some wonderful pastoral music by French genius Charles Koechlin, folk tunes and other amazing repertoire; even a short piece for piccolo and alarm clock! The performance lasts an hour and there will be opportunities to ask questions and have a close look at flutes afterwards.

Plenty of fun and variety with some deep overtones!

JS Bach - Partita in A minor

Charles Koechlin - Chants de Nectaire

Woodward - Capernaum (improvisation inspired by a harrowing film of the same name highlighting the plight of refugees)

Tilman Denhart - Wake Up (piccolo)

A few moments with the Alto flute

Irish traditional tunes on Whistles and folk flute

Beeftink - 'Wings'

Doors open 7:15pm
