About

Another three speakers with a local connection and a surprising and varied range of topics, expect the usual buzz of excitement and another stimulating and hugely enjoyable Friday night.

Debby Watson has been a researcher for many years, mostly working with disabled children and based at Bristol University. Her last project focused on playfulness in profoundly disabled children and she will pose the question: 'If children who struggle to walk, talk and even breathe can express playfulness, surely this means that it's of fundamental importance to all of us?'. Sophie Mather is a textile innovator, focusing on solving key sustainability issues.  Her Fred talk  ‘How to reimagine a lost textile industry in Wotton Under Edge’ she will explore the core problems faced by the clothing industry, and how these can be turned into inspiration for a new textile future.

John Carter will talk about his experience of thirty plus years working in the Probation Service including a spell when he covered the Wotton area.
