Why Not? Workshops
Welcome to the Why Not? workshops, our new project to make creative arts more accessible to everyone in the community. The idea is to spend a couple of hours trying a new craft or skill whilst drinking tea (or coffee), eating cake and chatting (or sitting quietly). There's no pressure to produce a masterpiece (or anything at all) . It's all about having a go and enjoying spending time with other people. We're keeping the cost extremely low to make these sessions available to as many people as possible. Everyone is welcome.
We have been very fortunate to receive funding from the Tesco 'Bags of Help' scheme, which has enabled us to buy a range of art equipment for the Chipping Hall including a sewing machine, height-adjustable table, printing tools and other supplies. And we are looking for further funding to purchase even more.
If there are any arts or crafts you'd like us to cover, please get in touch. And we'd love to hear from you if you would like to help run a session - teaching skills not necessary, just some willingness to share your enthusiasm!
If you know anyone you think would benefit from these sessions (especially people who may be feeling isolated or would never normally visit an arts centre) please let them know about these workshops or message us if we can help make things easier. We're looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Chipping Hall...
The very first workshop: Why not try... lino-printing?
Thanks to everyone who came to the inaugural workshop! We had a fantastic morning of lino-printing (and some very nice lemon drizzle cake...)
