About

Local resident Gef founded Saydisc records in 1965, and for many years it was based in Chipping Manor.

It grew to become a renowned family-run label specializing in folk and traditional music of Britain, and from around the world, recordings of unusual instruments and other esoteric genres such as British music hall recordings the sounds of Victorian and Edwardian mechanical music devices, and local folk/comedy artists including Fred Wedlock.

Gef will talk about about the history of Saydisc as it progressed through the decades in various manifestations from folk to blues to classical and much else in between. The talk will include sound samples from the catalogue.
