The Scribes Boombox is a brand new project born of multi-award winning act The Scribes. Consisting of lyricist/producer Ill Literate and beatbox maestros Pye & Minamus, the group’s unique talents have combined to make a trademark sound unlike any other, featuring a seamless blend of live instrumentation and sampling set against a block rocking backdrop of booming beatboxing.    Known for critically acclaimed performances full of energy, improvisation and off the cuff freestyling, the group have performed together at festivals across the UK, including such legendary stages as Glastonbury, Wireless, Isle Of Wight, WOMAD, Boomtown, Electric Picnic (Ireland), Urban In Ibiza, Latitude and Wilderness.

Having shared the stage with legends like MF DOOM, The Pharcyde, Pharoahe Monch, and GZA, the group’s roots are firmly planted in golden age hip hop sound. These boom bap sensibilities are blended flawlessly with some of the finest live beatboxing you’re ever likely to witness, resulting in a completely unforgettable live show that simply has to be seen to be believed.

MANKS: Somewhere between the start of the pre-drinks and the end of the after party, MANKS (Matt Banks) decided to start spitting bars. 
 A few people told him he was good and a few told him he was whack, but from that day on his determination to reflect his environment through smooth flows and witty lyricism has been unwavering. 
 After releasing his first mixtape, "Honestly", he began MCing over D'N'B and garage visiting some of the South West's most prestigious rave venues. 
 Sets at The Love Inn, Blue Mountain, Old Crown Courts and Dare 2 Club and Crofters Rights with DJ's such as J Oh Zee, Jakobin, Clarabelle (Bad Girls Club), Exult, IZATT, Vibe Chemistry, PINCH and Plastician have all been received well by the swathes of sweaty ravers blasting their gun fingers in perfect harmony. 
 Since returning to his spiritual home of Bristol after lockdown, he's been cutting his teeth on the city's famous hip hop open mic circuit and jam scene. 
 This has led to producers such as Formi (The X & Tricks), Will.B Beats and Beau Peep all connecting with MANKS and he has begun working on fresh new music with one thing in mind, getting the crowd bouncing as quickly as possible. 
 His latest EP release "drugs and bass and weirdos” is filled to the brim with bare faced boom bap bangers, and with more new music planned for release by the end of the summer, it looks like there's plenty more to come from a man like MANKS
