The Upside Down Kinks

The Band was formed late in 2017 by five professional musicians who had such admiration for Ray Davies’s songwriting that they decided to put the band together. As soon as they played the songs they instinctively knew that they had hit on a winning formula. Not just a simple Kinks tribute band that just play the songs, they knew that there were plenty of people who were also interested in the songs themselves, and the back story to them, so they decided that it would be a good idea to have an evening of Kinks music where each song was explained, how the song was written, what it was about and to then put it into the context of its time. 

When they play the songs a slide show of images connected to the song is projected on stage for added effect. 

People are surprised at how many songs are played that they didn’t know were by The Kinks -t nhey had 23 chart hits and released 24 studio albums, and The Upside Down Kinks cover all the hits and a selection of classics from their albums.
