About

Our Why Not? workshops allow local people to try creative activities that they may otherwise not be able to access, and benefit from the well-being and social aspects of being creative together.

Sashiko (literally “little stabs”) is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan. Traditional sashiko was used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair worn places or tears with patches. Today this running stitch technique is often used for purely decorative purposes in quilting and embroidery.

Why not come have a go at a new craft, over coffee and cake!
