The science is clear… Wetlands are one of the most effective carbon sinks on the planet. Although rainforests have long been thought of as the "lungs of the planet", research shows that wetlands are another important tool to fight the climate crisis. They are some of our most precious national treasures, and can tackle carbon storage, flood protection and water quality; not to mention the huge variety of wildlife they support.
